Mormon
Polygamy

"'Build up the kingdom, build up the kingdom,' has always been the watchword of polygamy. At Nauvoo it was whispered into the ears of those who were considered strong enough in the faith to receive it unquestioningly, but in Utah it is hurled indiscriminately at all alike. 'Build up the kingdom, whether you can support it or not,' is the almost literal teaching. The pecuniary condition of a man is never taken into consideration. He is expected to take as many wives as he can support, then take a few more to support themselves and their children."

-Ann Eliza Young

In 2013 it was world news that Joseph Smith had somewhere between 35 and 40 polygamous wives. Who were these women? What were their experiences with Joseph Smith?

What is known about the Nauvoo Abortions? Can these sources be trusted? Could this be a reason why Joseph Smith did not produce children with his polygamous wives?

From the Mormon Stories episode, I posed the question and evidence for Joseph Smith being involved in human trafficking.

What is the evidence that Joseph Smith started polygamy? What is the evidence that Brigham Young started polygamy?
